Kelly Moore and I are getting ready for the Butterfly Paddle Fit! The workout and downwind will take place every Friday on the Northshore of Maui. Kelly Moore has a SUP shuttle service here on Maui, so there is less driving for us and more play time in the water. Today we were scoping out other locations to hold the Paddle Fit programs. We paddled on the south side and came across a pod of dolphins!
Honolua Bay hosted the contest of the year today, Legends of the Bay 2010. This is my favorite surf contest becuase you get to surf a perfect wave with only 5 or 6 other people out. My first heat was around 10:00am and the tide was coming in so there were some fun, pretty big ones to ride. I caught a couple but was saved by one long wave that got me first in the heat! I was shocked! At the end of the day was the final. The waves died down a bit, but it was still fun to be in uncrowed surf. I got 5th overall which I am happy about. I hope to do better next time!

Ledges looked amazing! I heard many guys were getting great tubes rides in the harbor.
It so awesome for someone to be focused and determined to do a sport. These kids went out everyday for 5 or more hours for 4 days and in the end were doing great. They were catching waves all by themselves, standing up, turning and paddling back out for another. So cool! Great Job to all of them!
I do not think I ever windsurfed with my brothers before. Today I got two of my three brothers out in the water to windsurf. My oldest brother is visiting for a bit, so we were all able to sail together. I was so excited to finally sail with them because the last time I remember being down at Kanaha with both of them was when I was learning to water start.
