Honolua Bay hosted the contest of the year today, Legends of the Bay 2010.  This is my favorite surf contest becuase you get to surf a perfect wave with only 5 or 6 other people out.   My first heat was around 10:00am and the tide was coming in so there were some fun, pretty big ones to ride.   I caught a couple but was saved by one long wave that got me first in the heat! I was shocked!  At the end of the day was the final.  The waves died down a bit, but it was still fun to be in uncrowed surf.  I got 5th overall which I am happy about.  I hope to do better next time!

I am not much a freestlyer but I tried my best and got second.  Juliana won and Ivana got third. 

The trophies are so awesome.  They are a little version of the fishing boats that you see all over the beaches here in Brazil.

The Jeri local girls rip!  Taina will be one to look out for!

Ivana in her new Dona Florinda wetsuit.  Dona Florinda is providing a big pink bus to transport the girls to and from the Butterfly Effect!  This is just one of the fun things planned.  This Butterfly Effect is going to be so awesome!

The winds were a little gusty for the morning races and totally died out for the afternoon sailing.  

The womens slalom was in the morning and I was on my Naish Slalom board and a 5.5 sail.  

I am really getting to like the whole slalom division.  I think I felt the most comfortable this weekend and kept scoring higher places every time we raced.  I got a 5th, 3rd, and 2nd place which averaged out to 4th place in the end.  The best I have done for this catagory.  I was stoked!..and the womens division is pretty tough here.  One mess up and your getting last!
