20th Annual Ho’okipa Surf Classic

Today was the 20th annual Justin Roberson Ho’okipa surf contest.  The waves were 3-5ft.  In the early morning it was glassy but by the time they had the open women division the onshore winds blew in making it hard to catch a good long wave  I managed to catch bunch of waves, but many of them closed out and I had to paddle back to try and catch another better one.  I missed getting into the final but I am stoked to do the first contest in 2010!  The next contest will be at Honolua Bay.  That is always fun because you can surf the cave with only a couple people out!
