Biography
Tatiana has grown up in Maui, Hawaii since she was a year old. Raised along with her three older brothers she was bound to pick some kind of action packed sport. Her family had the weekly surf and BBQ sessions on the beach and her dad surfed with her on the nose of his long board. Driving around the north shore of Maui she was always amused by the surfers and windsurfers flying down the waves at Ho’okipa Beach Park.
It wasn’t until she was 15 years of age is when she really fell in love and had a passion for windsurfing and short boarding. Every day in the summer her mom would drop her off at Kanaha and would practice windsurfing for hours. Than in the evenings she would go for a surf session. As soon as she got the hang of it she headed up to the more advanced break that she had always admired, Ho’okipa.
Now she is totally addicted to the water and is out there surfing, windsurfing, kite surfing, tow in surfing, and any thing else she can get her hands on. Tatiana has a balance between the sports, which makes her have a unique style. She has been practicing Flow/Anusara yoga for just over 5 years now. She feels this practice has given her so much gratitude and appreciation for life in all that it offers.
Tatiana is also a student of University of Hawaii. Completing her Associate Degree last year, this year she is continuing her education towards a Masters Degree in Communication. Besides studying and in the water she loves to hang out with friends, hike to fresh ponds in the boonies, yoga, travel, snorkel, take photos, basketball, all kinds of dancing, laugh a lot, and just be creative with good energy.
Although she prefers to be more of a free water girl, she competes occationaly just to push herself and for experience.
